How 3D Gif Maker handles analytics, ads, and uploaded files

Your privacy at a glance

Last updated: 12 September 2026. This update clarifies the identifiers stored for gallery likes and abuse prevention. Our 6 August 2026 update described share links, which change what leaves your device: exporting a GIF can now publish it, and the picture or GIF you started from, at a public web address. Earlier versions of this policy said nothing you made was uploaded, so if you used the site before that August update, read Uploaded files and share links below — it is the part that changed.

3D Gif Maker is owned and operated by 3DGIFMAKER LLC, which is responsible for the data practices described in this policy. 3D Gif Maker is designed to do GIF creation and editing directly in your browser. We do not require an account to use the core tools, and we try to keep data collection limited to what is needed to run, improve, and support the site.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. The information generated by Google Analytics cookies may include usage details such as pages visited, device or browser information, and IP address data processed by Google on servers that may be located in the United States.

Google may use this information to evaluate website activity and provide reporting services to website operators. You can learn more in Google's privacy policy.

Advertising cookies

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to show ads based on prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's advertising cookies enable it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and across the internet.

Mediavine Programmatic Advertising (Ver 1.1)

The Website works with Mediavine to manage third-party interest-based advertising appearing on the Website. Mediavine serves content and advertisements when you visit the Website, which may use first and third-party cookies. A cookie is a small text file which is sent to your computer or mobile device (referred to in this policy as a "device") by the web server so that a website can remember some information about your browsing activity on the Website.

First party cookies are created by the website that you are visiting. A third-party cookie is frequently used in behavioral advertising and analytics and is created by a domain other than the website you are visiting. Third-party cookies, tags, pixels, beacons and other similar technologies (collectively, "Tags") may be placed on the Website to monitor interaction with advertising content and to target and optimize advertising. Without cookies you may not be able to take full advantage of the Website content and features. Please note that rejecting cookies does not mean that you will no longer see ads when you visit our Site. In the event you opt-out, you will still see non-personalized advertisements on the Website.

The Website collects the following data using a cookie when serving personalized ads:

Mediavine Partners (companies listed below with whom Mediavine shares data) may also use this data to link to other end user information the partner has independently collected to deliver targeted advertisements. Mediavine Partners may also separately collect data about end users from other sources, such as advertising IDs or pixels, and link that data to data collected from Mediavine publishers in order to provide interest-based advertising across your online experience, including devices, browsers and apps. This data includes usage data, cookie information, device information, information about interactions between users and advertisements and websites, geolocation data, traffic data, and information about a visitor's referral source to a particular website. Mediavine Partners may also create unique IDs to create audience segments, which are used to provide targeted advertising.

Local browser storage

We may use browser storage such as local storage to remember non-account preferences and basic site usage details, including visit counts or other browser-side settings that improve the experience.

Additional analytics providers

We also use Heap Analytics. Heap may collect cookies and usage data to help us understand product behavior and improve the service. Learn more in Heap's privacy policy.

Uploaded files and share links

In the normal editing flow, GIF processing happens in the browser on your own device and we do not store your images.

When you export a GIF, we also prepare a share link for it: the GIF is uploaded and stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers in the United States, and is viewable by anyone who has the link. A share link is not listed anywhere on this site and we only ever give the link to you — but the link is the only lock on the content, so anyone you send it to can open it and pass it on, and share pages can be listed by search engines such as Google, which means someone could find one without having been sent the link at all. Shared GIFs are scanned by an automated content-moderation service (AWS Rekognition). If none of that is what you want, switch share links off below or tick Private on any tool before you export — either way nothing leaves your device.

Publishing to the Animation Gallery is a separate, deliberate step and is described in The animation gallery below. Exporting a GIF never puts it in the gallery.

The image you started from. In the 3D animation tool, a reduced-size copy of the picture you uploaded is stored and published alongside the GIF, so that anyone who opens the share page can press Remix and start from the same picture rather than from the finished animation. It is viewable by anyone with that link, and it is scanned by the same moderation service. The copy is re-encoded before it is uploaded, which discards the location, timestamp and camera information a phone photo normally carries.

The tools that start from a GIF you supply — adding text, cropping, filtering and the rest — publish that original GIF the same way and for the same reason, so that Remix reopens what you started with rather than the finished result. It is stored, published and scanned on the same terms as everything above. Tools that start from a video upload only the GIF they produce.

Describing an animation to the AI. If you describe an animation in words on the Animation Studio, those words are sent to OpenAI to generate the code.

Retention. A share link expires automatically 90 days after it was last viewed (or 90 days after creation if it is never viewed); the GIF, the image it was made from, its page, and its metadata are then deleted. Content we remove for policy or legal reasons may be preserved in a non-public archive for up to one year where the law requires evidence retention.

IP addresses. When you create a share link we record the IP address it was created from, alongside the share record, for abuse prevention and rate limiting. It is deleted with the share record.

Deletion requests. To have a shared GIF removed before it expires, email 3dgifmaker@gmail.com with the share link.

Turning share links off. Share links are currently on in this browser. . With them off, a GIF you export is saved straight to your device and nothing is uploaded to us at all. The choice is remembered in this browser (and per app install on mobile); adding ?share_links=off or ?share_links=on to any page on the site sets it the same way.

Children

The Terms require you to be at least 13 to use 3D Gif Maker, and the site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because exporting a GIF can publish it, and the picture behind it, at a public web address, this matters more than it used to: if you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has published something here, email 3dgifmaker@gmail.com with the share link and we will remove it and delete the associated record. You can also stop anything from being uploaded in the first place by turning share links off above, or by ticking Private on any tool before exporting.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects what we collect or publish — as the introduction of share links did — we will say so at the top rather than leaving you to spot the difference.
