About the DVD Bounce animation

Your picture glides diagonally across the frame and bounces off every edge it hits, exactly like the DVD screensaver logo everyone has watched, hoping it lands in the corner. It makes three round trips side to side per loop, and the Y Bounces slider sets how many it makes up and down, which also changes the angle it travels at. It suits logos and emotes; a transparent background keeps the illusion clean.
Good for: Bouncing logos, Screensaver memes, Idle-screen loops

How to make a DVD Bounce GIF

  1. Upload an image above (JPG, PNG, GIF or WebP), or start with the sample image that is already loaded.
  2. The DVD Bounce animation is selected for you. Adjust the size, speed and total frames, and add filters if you want them.
  3. Click Download Gif. The GIF is made in your browser and saved to your device.

Best DVD Bounce settings

  • Y Bounces: 2 or 3. With a longer loop this leaves the corner hit rare enough to stay satisfying, which is the whole bit.
  • Frames: 60 or more. Short loops make the bounce pattern obvious and kill the corner suspense.
  • Zoom: around -40. Shrinking the image gives it room to travel, like the logo on the idle screen.

Works best on: logos and small emblems on a transparent or dark background.

Watch out: A full-frame image has nowhere to bounce; if it fills the canvas, zoom out first.

DVD Bounce GIF questions

How do I make a bouncing DVD logo GIF?
Upload the logo, keep DVD Bounce selected, and click Download Gif. The image glides diagonally and bounces off every edge it hits. Set Zoom to around minus 40 so it has room to travel, and use 60 frames or more so the pattern is not obvious.
Will the logo hit the corner?
Y Bounces sets how many up-and-down bounces happen per loop, which also changes the travel angle. 2 or 3 with a long loop keeps the corner hit rare, which is the whole bit.
Why does the image not move?
A full-frame image has nowhere to bounce. Zoom out first, and tick Transparent or pick a dark background so the moving logo stands out.

3D Gif Maker is a free online GIF maker: turn your images into animated gifs in seconds

Simply upload an image, pick an animation style, tweak the parameters, apply filters, and download a gif.

Upload Image

Select an image (jpeg, png, gif) to upload.

Animation

Choose any animation type from the drop-down menu. Play around!

Size

Change the size your downloaded GIF will be. If it's larger than the viewfinder, just hover your mouse! Larger gifs will take longer to make, be patient!

Speed

This decides how "fast" your GIF will move. Less speed = less frames per second & more speed = more frames per second. The GIF file format is limited to a maximum of 50fps, and does some rounding so your preview might not look exactly like the downloaded gif. For more info check out this 10 FPS GIF smoothness guide.

Frames

This can help make it look "smoother" (it can also add a lot to your file size). Play around with the slider, you can't permanently break it!

Filters

You can toggle from a selection of filters including, grayscale, pixelation, mirror, ghost trail, motion blur, trippy, invert colors and more!

Background

Upload a background image. For transparent background, click the "Transparent" box below (note: this will override any uploaded background image).

Download

Click the "Download Gif" button.
Note: Download will *not* work within the Instagram or Facebook App, we are looking for a work around. In the meantime you can just visit the website on your phone's browser app (chrome, safari) and download will work.
You can adjust the axis view on desktop by clicking and dragging your mouse on the animation. To zoom in, hover over the animation and use your scroll wheel.
