About the Heartbeat animation
Your picture pulses in place, smoothly growing to about 20 percent larger than normal, shrinking to about 20 percent smaller, and returning to its starting size once per loop. It suits hearts, logos, stickers, notification badges and 'live' indicators, and works well as a small Discord or Slack emote. Speed it up for a real heartbeat feel or slow it down for a calm breathing motion.
Good for: Pulsing hearts, Breathing logos, Live badges

How to make a Heartbeat GIF
- Upload an image above (JPG, PNG, GIF or WebP), or start with the sample image that is already loaded.
- The Heartbeat animation is selected for you. Adjust the size, speed and total frames, and add filters if you want them.
- Click Download Gif. The GIF is made in your browser and saved to your device. Unless you tick Private first, the GIF and your picture are also uploaded to create a share link.
Best Heartbeat settings
- Frames: about 24. Two pulses per loop at this count, which is the lub-dub rhythm people expect.
- Speed: 20 to 30 fps. A resting heart rate; slower reads as breathing.
Works best on: love stickers, reaction GIFs, and anything with a heart in it.
Watch out: Zooming in far enough that the swell clips the canvas edge on the big beat.
Heartbeat GIF questions
- How do I make a pulsing heart GIF?
- Upload the image, keep Heartbeat selected, and click Download Gif. It grows to about 20 percent larger, shrinks to about 20 percent smaller, and returns to size once per loop. About 24 frames at 20 to 30 fps gives the two-pulse lub-dub rhythm.
- How do I turn the heartbeat into a slow breathing loop?
- Lower Speed. Below 20 fps the swell reads as breathing rather than a heartbeat, which suits calm logos and live badges.
- Why is the big beat clipped at the edge?
- The swell needs room. Zoom out a little so the largest beat stays inside the canvas.
